We are looking to hire a Digital Systems Engineer immediately at our Maryland Logistics Center Distribution Center in Sparrows Point, Maryland.

Position Overview/Primary Purpose

Position Overview

This position will diagnose and resolve OT/IT issues in the plant including packaging/process control systems, shop floor applications, and various network systems. Additionally, the position will create technical documentation and support training of technicians in operations, maintenance, quality, and other support functions.

Level of Education and Discipline

A.S. Degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or related

Certification and/or Licenses

 

Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen

3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to diagnose and repair PC related issues including touch screen displays, media drives, network interface cards, and human interface devices

Ability to load and configure hardware and software related to industrial control systems

Ability to lead and work in project teams to deliver business objectives

Demonstrated experience in a continuous improvement system

Interpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence

Self-motivated and able to informally lead small project teams

Can relate to all plant personnel using appropriate tact and communication styles

Able to influence decisions within the plant

Interacts regularly with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams within the plant and IT teams external to the plant

Other Skills and HPO Competencies

Ability to create, maintain, and modify technical documentation

Ability to understand and modify technical drawings using CAD software

Dimension

The Digital Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the site OT and IT control systems and networks and has a large impact on the site’s ability to deliver to PR targets. These impacts include accurate collection and reporting of production metrics, connectivity of shop floor systems to the enterprise network, and manufacturing equipment control systems. Additionally, this role will execute improvement projects targeting shop floor applications and systems to reduce production downtime.

This position will provide input and support to other functions within the site as it pertains to training documentation and delivery as well as the development of standard work across the plant in support of Journey to Excellence.

The Digital Systems Engineer must be capable of solving complex problems with quick decision making to diagnose and repair production critical systems in a timely manner.
