Production Lead- 3rd Shift

McCormick & Company, Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full time Production Lead on our Mojave business. This new hire will work in our Commerce, CA plant. The Production Lead will report to the Operations Team Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under minimum supervision, ensures production flow. Oversees and monitors production to ensure quality and performs verifications and inspections of product and machines.  Responsible for documenting all department functions daily.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fill out daily production for Production management approval.
  • Delegate production schedule given by Material Management Manager.
  • Oversee machinery is running properly.
  • Quality control including: labeling finished product and packaging.
  • Report any problems of damaged raw materials.
  • Responsible for employee counseling and coaching, in assistance with the Department Director  and Human Resources.
  • Interact with Distribution and Receiving department for quality and efficient flow of production.
  • Handles training of new employees through direct coordination of Department Director and Human Resources Department.
  • Researches and presents new ideas to improve the production operation.
  • Maintains reports that indicate condition of production area, flow of incoming raw material, finished product and employee records.
  • Audit GMP’s daily and report to the Director of Operations.
  • Monthly Safety Inspection reports for the Safety Committee.
  • Record all labor on appropriate Labor Sheets.
  • Insure that all required reports are turned in to the Operation Clerk on time.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.  

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of one year experience in assistant lead/supervisor role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires abroad knowledge of various processes, operations and machines in production area. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others, establish credibility, and be decisive.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a must.
  • Sound supervisory skills- people and principals.
  • Advocate team concept.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a food/beverage plant
  • Experience working with GMP’s  HACCP
  • SAP system experience
