Activities and Responsibilities:#LI-DNI  

  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records under Romanian GAAP
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual local closing process
  • Prepare mid-year and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations
  • Prepare Corporate Income Tax calculations and ensure timely and accurate tax filings
  • Ensure VAT compliance including preparation and submission of VAT returns and ANAF reporting
  • Support statutory reporting in accordance with local GAAP requirements (e.g. National Bank of Romania, National Institute of Statistics)
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting in compliance with corporate deadlines and standards
  • Prepare group reporting package for consolidated financial statements
  • Reconcile differences between Romanian GAAP and US GAAP
  • Cooperate and support internal and external audits
  • Supervise fixed asset accounting
  • Oversee inventory stock count
  • Review and approve account reconciliations 

 

Additional/Potential responsibility: 

  • Prepare monthly payroll processing and payroll-related declarations 

 

Key capabilities: 

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Certified Accountant qualification (CECCAR membership) – preferred or in progress
  • Solid knowledge of Romanian Accounting Law and tax legislation
  • Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience in supporting statutory audits
  • Good understanding of corporate income tax and VAT compliance
  • Previous experience with US GAAP reporting – considered an advantage
  • Experience in payroll processing and reporting - considered a plus
  • High level of accountability and ownership
  • Strong ethical standards and internal control mindset
  • Excellent Microsoft Offices skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Fluency in Romanian and English
