R2R General Ledger Accountant

Based: Łódź, Poland


This position will be responsible for supporting the completion of activities across Regional Accounting, Consolidation, Master Data and Planning and reporting in line with Corporate policies, processes and standards, ensuring continuous improvement throughout. This position will require good technical accounting knowledge across a wide breadth of accounting activities.





  • Conducting a range of activities in line with Corporate policies, standard procedures and established operational and financial control frameworks
  • Implementing and adhering to US GAAP and Local statutory GAAP processes, accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensuring timely compliance with internal control policies and SoX environment, including timely completion of internal and external audit requests
  • Preparing standard financial reports (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to US GAAP, Local Statutory GAAP or other regulatory requirements.
  • Compiling and analysing business information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions
  • Identifying, researching and escalating accounting matters and/or process breakdowns that could result in financial misstatement and control exceptions/deficiencies
  • Implementing financial statement analytical review processes and reporting, including completion of required balance sheet account reconciliations and external reporting disclosure schedules
  • Working with others to complete regulatory filings, internal audits, external audits, operational audits and other required activities
  • Collating the financial data required to support the Centre of Excellence with their reporting and analysis
  • Supporting the production, the standard library of management reports, with initial variance analysis and commentary within the agreed timeline
  • Completing analysis of financial statements, reports, and variances/trends in data and communicates findings
  • Supporting the production of region-specific reporting and analysis
  • Providing ad hoc assistance to the Centre of Excellence in terms of planning, budgeting and forecasting


Candidate’s profile        


  • 2+ years accounting experience strongly preferred with knowledge of General ledger Accounting, Financial Reporting including multinational group accounting focused on US GAAP preferred
  • BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business
  • Relevant Accounting Qualification in region e.g. CIMA, ACA or CPA
  • Experience in working in a matrix-based organizational hierarchy
  • Experience in working in multi-national Consumer Goods business environment and experience working in a global financial shared services center supporting multiple countries preferred
  • Experience with ERP (SAP preferred) and regional/global US GAAP based group reporting systems
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and Local Statutory GAAP (as applicable) accounting standards
  • Experience in internal control and SoX requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate and interact effectively across multiple functions
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work well within a team and being proactive in managing and improving own work
  • Self-starter mentality and proactive in initiating action steps
