Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager has responsibility for managing and supervising the activities of the Accounts Receivable function, which includes the following areas: billing, cash allocation, contract book management, collections and order management, supporting dispute management activities if needed. Leading complex and interpretive financial analysis for activities within the Accounts Receivable function, providing daily support of the business and working towards established goals, monitoring all operational controls to ensure compliance with established procedures and approval levels, providing value-added contract analysis and works closely with the NA AR Relationship Team to provide best in class service and reporting to internal and external customers. The AR Manager also provides direction and coaching to team members to ensure work performance meets or exceeds targets.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Managing Accounts Receivable activities to ensure the execution of business unit and customer specific service levels.
  • Working closely with the AR Relationship Management Team to implement relationship strategies for internal and external customers.
  • Utilizing coaching and facilitation skills to lead the team and manage employee relations. Providing regular performance feedback and overseeing development and training plans for individuals within the team.
  • Providing oversight of metrics and reporting to ensure consistent, on or above target performance attainment.
  • Providing management and oversight of month end and quarter close activities.
  • Analyzing and presenting critical month-end risks, opportunities, and other findings to senior leaders for executive action.
  • Utilizing critical thinking to draw upon professional experiences, market and industry knowledge, data, and then applying in decision making and direction setting.
  • Providing oversight and support for problem solving, issues resolution, process improvement, and project support.
  • Managing SOX controls and Audit related queries to ensure the observance and timely execution of the reporting requirement.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • 8+ years progressive financial/business experience.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in credit, accounting or related area.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies within the function that support and help grow NA business units.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to effectively lead a multi-level team based in multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated PC/Software skills with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • CPA license or international equivalenT.
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, complex projects.
  • SAP/BW/TM1 experience.
