 Internal Controls & Compliance Analyst

 


POSITION OVERVIEW 

This position has the responsibility to ensure that SAP systems controls and user access globally are operating effectively within McCormick’s control environment. This position uses independent thinking, judgement, and experience to review system security requests for internal control conflicts & manages the related mitigation using the SAP GRC and Approva tools. Additionally, this role will design and test internal controls and is a key contact point during audits and SOX testing. SOX testing performed by this position is relied on by outside auditors. The position has a key role in ensuring that projects implemented in the ERP system are implemented in a way that is aligned with McCormick’s control environment.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rule and judgmental based evaluations of SAP Access: Evaluate Global SAP LEO, SAP Reach, and SAP OutReach security to provide guidance and approval on access design in consideration of control environment. Consult with Global Process Owners and Global Delivery Leads as required to enforce standard processes and ensure the integrity of the control environment.
  • Utilize SAP GRC Access Monitoring to manage SODs and sensitive access risk and related risk mitigation.  SAP GRC Process Control Monitoring: Using the SAP GRC Process Control Module; monitor SAP System controls for effectiveness and manage corrective actions with GPOs, GDLs, and MCK IT for resolution.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities for Process Control Automation with outside support as required     
    SOX Testing & Control execution: Independently perform SOX testing primarily focusing on system controls; document and report on testing conclusions to Internal & External audit; recommend improvements to control environment and identify and design mitigation where required.     
  • Project Management - Lead projects relating to control testing and role mapping including Development of project plans, project leadership, communicating project updates, stake holder socialization, and project deliverables.
  • Business/Process Improvement: Deliver CCI and other change projects resulting in process improvement.      

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in accounting, auditing, internal controls, security administration or information systems
  • Experience with SAP access design, authorization objects, SAP GRC, and/or Approva
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to solve problems with incomplete information and build consensus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP system controls and security
  • Experience with SOX testing and internal control environments
  • Project management and process improvement capabilities
  • Proactive, organized, and team-oriented approach
