EMEA Regulatory Compliance Team Leader

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages Regulatory Compliance team workload, to ensure efficient projects delivery according to the business expectation - on time & high quality.
- Responsible for employee development - recruitment, training, development plan, performance management and adherence to McCormick competencies and values.
- Leads cooperation and communication with Plant Quality, R&D, Technical Departments, Commercialization, Marketing, Sales daily. Provide expertise and act as a resource to other departments by providing guidance on regulatory compliance matters. Ensures that strategic information is cascaded down to relevant team as appropriate.
- Leads multi-functional projects, develops, and ensures internal procedures and work instructions are in place. Identifies and implements process improvements.
- Supports up to 40% of operational work based on business priorities, including review and approval of product formulations, product labels, and/or documents to ensure their regulatory compliance.
- Acts as a first point of contact for escalations, manage RCA and suggest CAPA for each non-conformity that relates to compliance issues.
- Proactively communicates within the Management Group proposals of changes that will improve ways of working between Technical Shared Services and other Departments.
- Provides weekly/ monthly KPI reports/ updates on project progress to the Regulatory Compliance Director.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- High University diploma in Food Science or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Food Industry or similar area.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in People Management.
- Fluent English; additional language: French, Spanish, Italian (or other) will be an advantage.
- Ability to travel to the office based in Łódź minimum once a month.
- Organized, methodical, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
- Able to prioritize and manage time and team effectively, with high sense of urgency. Fast decisions making
- Advanced Project Management Skills.
- Proactive and flexible approach with ability to work effectively across the business functions, as well as work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Root Cause Analysis Mindset & Strong Process Improvement Skills.
- Good understanding of specific food safety management and food regulatory issues; possesses enough understanding on product composition and communication of regulatory information. Keeps abreast of local and international regulatory knowledge and implements validated action plans in response to regulatory changes.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Quality Systems/Food Certification Standards (Halal/Kosher/Organic) will be an advantage.
- Advanced level of computer literacy (specifically Excel, SAP, Outlook, and Lotus Notes desirable).
