Inventory Finance Analyst

The Americas Inventory Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing support for the key activities of the Inventory Finance Manager for our North American business. The successful candidate will be an active business partner with the Inventory teams working toward common goals to drive inventory reduction and efficiencies.  This position will also be responsible for partnering with the co-manufacturing team and other teams to understand and reconcile inventory held outside of McCormick facilities. The Analyst will also be responsible for preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations and SOX control documentation. Additionally, this position will be a partner in advancing War on Waste reporting automation that will provide the foundation for business decision and insights.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in financial preparation and oversight of the Inventory forecasting and budgeting process including financial review and coordination with Inventory and Planning
  • Assist in Inventory financial close process
  • Lead financial preparation and oversight of the co-manufacturing inventory reconciliation process including coordination with the Co-manufacturing team
  • Communication of Inventory results and insights to operations and finance business partners
  • Assist in financial insights and data preparation for ad hoc business requests
  • Lead data extraction and preparation for Inventory analytics and reporting
  • Utilize systems to improve analytics and processes to drive data-based insights
  • Assist in designing reporting that effectively communicates financial measurements, targets, and analysis in an automated and consolidated manner for financial and non-financial leadership
  • Lead financial preparation of various balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Maintain appropriate SOX internal control environment and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual SOX procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting/financial analysis
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting standards and GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools
  • Fluent in English
  • Effective interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions & cultures and interact with all levels of the organization required
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational tools, self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information required and to proactively initiate action steps required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP, experience with other financial software including PowerBI and EDW
