Product Development Technologist (12-month contract)

We are seeking a full time Product Development Technologist to join our R&D Team based in Moorabbin (12-month contract).  Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will interact with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to execute research and development activities related to new product development in accordance with customer or stakeholder requirements. In addition, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver on productivity projects. 

 

The Role

 

  • Drive high levels of customer engagement to shape, refine, and deliver New Product Development (NPD) project briefs aligned to business and customer requirements.
  • Through Stage Gate process, lead end-to-end NPD projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and designed for successful scale-up to full manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through NPD forums, providing technical input into costings, product specifications, artwork approvals, trials, and commercialization documentation.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to plan and execute production trials, supporting transition from pilot to full commercial manufacture.
  • Lead and/or support factory troubleshooting activities to ensure product quality, process stability, and efficient issue resolution.

Your Skills

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant R&D experience within FMCG manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical and hands-on manufacturing expertise across Wet Condiments, Seasonings, Marinades and Coating Systems.
  • Demonstrated passion for problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver practical, innovative technical solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, building strong and meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience highly regarded.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FSANZ regulations and their application within product development and manufacturing environments.
