This position is responsible for representing the Human Relations function with low supervision. The incumbent consults with business functions and HR colleagues to identify business and/or people concerns and works together to develop solutions. This position achieves employee/management satisfaction through the direction, development, and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes and training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws and company policies and procedures. Applies judgment when drawing conclusions and developing solutions
- Facilitate issue resolution, improve employee morale, and maintain visibility of the HR function.
- Administers HR programs, policies, procedures, and practices consistent with McCormick’s philosophy and core values.
- Lead McCormick High Performance Systems at the location, leading to higher level of employee engagement and motivation
- Supports recruitment and selection activities including working with talent acquisition team, functional leaders to determine position requirements, preparing postings, participating in the screening and selection process, and providing feedback and guidance to hiring managers.
- Advises supervisors with regard to disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices. Conducts investigations. Identifies and facilitates the resolution of practices which may lead to complaints or lowered employee morale.
- Supports the exempt and non-exempt salary review process and facilitates department and/or functional planning (OGSM) and other HR processes
- Implements employee development programs and provide individual development and career counselling.
Level of Education and Discipline Bachelor's or master’s degree in human resources management or related fields
Experience
- 5-7+ years of experience preferably from FMCG/FMCD organizations
- Proven track record of business partnering, managing stakeholders and working in a matrix organization is desired
- Good knowledge of People processes, organizational complexity and ambiguity
- Proven project management skills and experience with ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Preferably experience in driving capability and people processes
- Good data and talent analytic skills/mindset
- Consultative and diagnostic skillsAbility to think strategically and develop tactical action plans to achieve business and people goals
