PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIST
This role is responsible to deliver packaging solutions for the Consumer and Flavour Solutions for SEA and manage all aspects of packaging development projects from concept to commercialization. Projects include new product development, artwork, cost savings, re-engineering, process improvements, PLP reporting, innovation and sustainability, plus any other relevant packaging activities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- To support and manage the packaging components of all Consumer and Flavour Solutions projects which includes artwork / design recommendations, and die lines.
- Maintains all packaging and testing specifications.
- Provide technical support to cross-functional teams on packaging related matters.
- Supports business plans and works closely with marketing, sales, SC, Procurement on process and packaging material cost improvements (CCI) and to ensure purpose led performance (PLP) sustainability targets on track. EcoImpact reporting and vendor analysis are key in this role to help understand the carbon footprint impacts to the local BU and the region.
- Lead the local transition and factory scale up of new product concepts from business units outside Australia's supply chain hub. Responsible to coordinate product and packaging scale up.
- Maintains close links with procurement to packaging suppliers to ensure MKC quality, technical support, sustainability, innovation and re-engineering expectations are met.
- Conducts packaging testing when required
Education
Bsc Technical - Research & Development
Advanced education ie Diploma in Packaging Technology would be highly regarded
Experiences
3 to 5 years Packaging Development experience or FMGC QA / PD experience
