Laboratory Supervisor
The Laboratory Supervisor reports to the Laboratory Manager, is responsible for technical expertise in laboratory (chemical and microbiological) testing and analysis. Manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including providing supervision to the laboratory technician, ensuring the efficiency of the testing results, timely reporting, and day-to-day resource planning.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of raw material, in-process, and finished product analytical testing (microbiological and chemical) in compliance with requirements. ▪ Supervise the work of laboratory technicians. ▪ Manage the day-to-day testing, the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory testing, and the results. ▪ Plan and manage laboratory resources as per the business plan (e.g., manpower resources, chemical reagents, media, testing equipment, etc.). ▪ Ensure the interpretation, reporting of data, and maintenance of records are documented and effectively implemented. Includes the use of statistical analysis where appropriate. ▪ Execute a program of routine problem resolution and continuous improvement for the lab. ▪ Serve as a resource during external audits by regulatory agencies or other third parties. ▪ Manage the analytical lab's operational budget.
- Lead the laboratory's mandatory program. ▪ Ensure the calibration of analytical instruments, the use of analytical reference standards, and the maintenance of the equipment are established and followed for all laboratory requirements. ▪ Lead the lab proficiency testing program and ensure efficiency. ▪ Written local lab procedures and translate corporate global methods and published international standards into the local language as required. ▪ Execute the laboratory work and program to meet all applicable regulations (e.g., safety, good laboratory, MOPH, etc.) and ISO/IEC17025 principles in chemical and microbiological labs.
- Lab project / Cross functional project support and development ▪ Support, consult and develop in term of chemical or microbiological laboratory. ▪ Support, consult and develop in term of cost reduction project
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Discipline Bachelor's Degree in Microbiological, Chemical, or related field.
- Minimum Experience Required ▪ Minimum 3 years-experience working in a food/feed laboratory ▪ Knowledge of the ISO 17025 standard and good laboratory practices
- Certifications and/or Licenses ▪ ISO/EC 17025 Certificate ▪ Good laboratory practices
- Other Skills & Competencies ▪ Familiarity with food/feed microbiological and food/feed chemical testing techniques ▪ Background in ISO/IEC 17025 ▪ Good leadership skills. ▪ Ability to work within a multinational team. ▪ Familiarity with food/feed microbiological and food/feed chemical testing techniques ▪ Background in ISO/IEC 17025 ▪ Good leadership skills. ▪ Ability to work within a multinational team.
