QA Supervisor - Consumer

Mccormick (Thailand) Ltd.

This is a strategic role that will support growth within the business and protect consumers by working closely with the internal and external partners to ensure that high standards are met and maintained in food safety, quality assurance and compliance. This role will work closely with multiple manufacturing locations across the world by leading risk assessments, root cause analysis activities, food safety audits and support new partners (internal & external) to assure compliance to high international and local standards of inter-consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Program of Consumer goods:

  • Develop and manage quality assurance program from end to end (e.g., COA, quality assurance plan, complaint report, correction process, etc.)
  • Work to resolve any quality issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
  • To be responsible for all quality & food safety audits and support the investigation of complaints and NCR correction.
  • Establish and implement all related documents for consumer goods.
  • Support cross-functional cost and process improvement projects that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • Ensure that the COA from the manufacturer is precise and accurate.
  • Monitors processes and adjusts resources as necessary to handle workflow.
  • Proactively work with a cross-functional team in traceability systems and inventory management.
  • Communicate and Coordinate with key stakeholders to discuss/present food safety and quality standards/ issues, with the aim of improving our systems, working toward KPIs, or achieving compliance.
  • Ensure that products are allowed to be stored at the licensed warehouses in accordance with Thai laws and regulations.

Quality & Food Safety Management Program for Consumer goods:

  • Leads product/process risk assessment of consumer goods from end to end.
  • Develop programs and initiatives that could result in the reduction of quality defects, including process controls and process validations.
  • Ensures that management of change of new projects, processes, new products, and improvements are well executed at the site level to safeguard any unfavorable impact on Quality & Food safety.
  • Ensures all QA documentation relating to procedures, standards, etc. are updated and filed on a timely basis or as instructed.
  • Develop and maintain the technical information database of consumer goods.

Warehouse Assurance Program for Consumer goods:

  • Manage current and future relevant external warehouses to meet global and plant standard
  • Assesses and confirms external warehouse standards to meet McCormick standards of supply, through performing the audit, reviewing analytical data compliance, performing and review of process capability trial data, and verifying that external warehouse hazard controls are operating effectively.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality Team to manage current and future relevant co-packers and/or warehouses to meet global and relevant standards.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality Team to coordinate co-packers and/or warehouse risk assessment through initial qualification audits, and implementation of quality and food safety management systems.
  • Coordinate co-packers and/or warehouse and customers in terms of quality, food safety, and technical issue e.g., new product, problem investigation, etc.
  • Create and conduct audit programs to review various processes in a work environment to ensure standards are being followed and continually improved.
  • Conduct monthly GMP / Hygiene inspection at co-packers and/or warehouse.

Plant Quality Program:

  • Water quality inspection program lead - Develop and maintain the appropriate water quality monitoring program and sample collections.
  • Calibration program lead - Manage and maintain the calibration program of laboratory analytical instruments.
  • Pest control program lead - Lead pest control program, manage and evaluate the services of sub-contracted services.

Any other activity allocated by QA Manager from time to time

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or any related field.
  • Good communication skills in English (both formal written and spoken)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of QA Experience with 2 years of relevant work in Quality in Food/Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)
  • Food industry experience with a good understanding and ability to implement GHPs, HACCP, Food Safety management systems, and GFSI systems
  • Background in BRC, AIB, FSSC, GMP, HACCP, HALAL, YUM Star, McD SQMS or other food safety standard.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and independently
  • An analytical mindset.
  • An ability to work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly manner.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • The ability to gather and interpret data and the ability to troubleshoot problems and ‘think outside the box.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to quality/food safety issues
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to manage competing tasks under pressure.
  • Flexibility as the business continues to grow and transform.
  • Flexible and can work under pressure.
  • Can work on Mon-Sat (2 Saturday / Month)
  • Can work at Amata Phase10 Phanthong, Chonburi.
