We are looking to hire a Team Manager- Training and Development immediately at our Manufacturing Plant in Atlanta, Georgia.

POSITION OVERVIEW 

Under the direction of the Continuous Improvement/JTE, Manager, the Training Manager will provide overall direction and program management for all activities related to training and development. The Training Manager will be a critical leader of the Journey to Excellence; the integration of High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) into the Atlanta Plant. Using a cross functional, multi-departmental approach, the position will work closely with the plant leadership team in determining training needs that drive manufacturing excellence for the facility.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage training activities for the Hunt Valley Plant such as entry level on-boarding processes, skill development and validation of technical competency, and management development 

  • Provide training for Standard Operating Procedures 

  • Track, audit, and measure the results from training that is provided 

  • Responsible for overall preparation and maintenance of training tools and procedures 

  • Primary support of new technologies as they become available 

  • Coordinate and prepare training schedules to accommodate facility needs 

  • Formulates plans and corrective measures 

  • Ensure adequate manpower availability during training activities for efficient operational needs 

  • Collaborate with the Atlanta Plant leadership team, Human Relations, the Safety and Health Training Manager, and Learning and Development Cent 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BS/BA in Education, Psychology, Human Resources Development, or a closely related field 

  • College level course work in Education, Human Resources, Psychology, and/or related fields 

  • Minimum 2 years relevant training experience 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

  • Experience and the proven ability to successfully facilitate adult audiences of small to large groups 

  • Experience developing training programs 

  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization 

  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Powerpoint 

  • Creativity, flexibility, high energy, and the ability to work cross-functionally 

  • Experience and the proven ability to link training initiatives to overall business strategy and business objectives 

  • A deep respect for the capabilities of all people 

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet the business demands of a 3-shift operation 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience training in a production/manufacturing environment strongly 

  • Experience working in a High Performance Work System and/or Self Directed Work Team environment 

  • Experience in adult learning theory
