POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will be responsible for coordinating and managing controls operations for a new plant. This position will diagnose and resolve issues with PLC controls systems, and various network systems associated with manufacturing process and equipment. The position will create technical documentation and support training of operation technicians, EETs and other support functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily troubleshooting of various PLC and networking systems
• Provide input to Operations and Maintenance groups when developing machine and work standards (CIL's, OPL's, RCA's, improvement route projects, etc.)
• Complete preventative maintenance on control and networking systems
• Create and maintain technical documentation of supported systems
• Provide training to operation technicians, EETs and other support functions
• Lead or provide support of focus improvement projects
• Provide support for new equipment installations
• The position will have a large effect on the plant’s ability to reduce losses on Minor Stops, improve production line efficiency and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) with more technical stops.
• Troubleshooting PLC control problems and translating desired production outcomes into PLC programming to control production equipment.
• Analyzing plant processing needs and designing engineering solutions for back to basic condition or better.
• Understanding recent IT developments, software enhancements and best practices within the industry.
• Evaluating what is best for the enterprise as opposed to only the plant controls requires making difficult decisions which involve balancing the needs of all parties.
• Working with internal customers to meet their needs while engineering a practical solution utilizing the limits of the equipment.
• This position is vital to improving plant reliability by providing technical expertise to plant customers in the areas of root cause analysis & corrective actions for controls with reapplication across the factory.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A.S. Degree in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or electronics
• 5 years in like role- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair PC related issues down to the component level to include touch screen displays, hard drives, CD ROM drives and NIC cards. Ability to repair and / or replace components and subsequently load, configure, and parameterize both hardware and software as it may relate to industrial, process control PC’s and their related applications. Demonstrated ability to work in small cross functional groups, deliver effective communication, meet deadlines, and lead quality/process improvement teams. 5 years – Work experience in a manufacturing environment. The position will be successful with the required years of industry experience, and the ability to keep technical components and software up to technological and industry standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work in a cross functional team environment, demonstrate quality/process improvement capabilities.  This position will interact daily with internal customers (operations) to understand their daily issues, so they may help resolve. This position will work closely with Maintenance team members (Electricians and Mechanics) resolving issues. This position will interact with Engineering and other Process Automation peers to set company standards and documented best practices.
• Technical documentation - Knowledge of and ability to maintain technical documentation and drawings AutoCAD - Ability to work with AutoCAD to make drawing modifications
