General Summary:
The Material Handler position is primarily responsible for material flow between our Production and Warehouse facilities. In addition, this position contributes to maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and the proper handling of inventory movement due to product disposals, vendor returns and co-manufacturing.
Job Specifications
- Moves approved raw materials from the warehouse to production
- Moves packaging finished goods from production to warehouse
- Responsible for transporting items to designated area and follows up on timely, accurate disposition
- Prepares orders for shipment in situations when finished goods are in stock at time of order
- Performs packaging materials cycle count to maintain accurate computer values for packaging
- Performs material cycle counts for key items to maintain inventory accuracy
- Delivers raw materials to production for manufacturing needs
- Assists in maintaining warehouse facility in organization and housekeeping
- Assists the shipping department, as necessary, in normal department routines including shipping and receiving
- Ensure proper inventory handling procedures are followed
- Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all documents and packaging associated with the receipt(s)
- Maintain warehouse facility up to AIB and SQF standards
- Must understand material and equipment hazards and perform duties in a safe manner utilizing recognized safe practices and/or appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required, associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Experience: 1 year of equivalent training or experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, speak effectively to employees, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic math skills including computation of rate, ratio, and percent.
- Industrial Forklift license.
- Employee may need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The grade range for this position is $18.90-$26.46.
