Under the general supervision of a Team Manager, the incumbent will maintain packaging, blending and fermentation equipment in multiple departments and is responsible for the complete maintenance and inspection on individual pieces of equipment. The employee will adhere to safety/GMP procedures and ensure a safe work environment, meet and/or exceed product quality expectations, achieve process reliability goals, and work in a team based environment. Must be able to work in a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environment and be familiar with high speed automated equipment. Will be required to lubricate, maintain and evaluate equipment for proper adjustment. Responsible for lubricating machinery, replacing grease fittings and manage the selection, application and periodic consolidation of lubrication oils and grease lubricants, appropriate for machines commonly found in industrial settings. This includes re-greasing intervals and volume, lubrication troubleshooting, and creation of improved lubrication systems or methods taking into consideration environmental, health, and safety issues Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Leadership Team, the employee will perform preventative and corrective maintenance; respond to trouble calls on production/process equipment and facilities. This position will monitor and approve all maintenance data entries on an ongoing basis during the shift and perform handoffs before and after the shift with maintenance and production counterparts. The Utility Mechanic will spend 90% of the time on the floor supporting production and will utilize available line time and resources to complete work during regular hours. This position will identify constant improvements while maintaining and improving preventative maintenance sheets and daily checklists with specific actionable information. This position requires the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and problem solve issues concerning complex mechanical systems. The role includes consistent interaction with production line personnel which requires good oral communication skills.Must demonstrate the ability to identify and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate capability to utilize resources to continuously improve personal / individual skill level as related to core job duties.

Primary/Essential duties: |

Support, troubleshoot lubricate, and repair all production and facility equipment in assigned work area. |
|
|
Complete assigned preventative maintenance work orders to established procedures. |
|
|
Complete assigned planner/corrective, predictive and preventive equipment inspection, improvement and safety work orders. |
|
|
Use Chase Maintenance System to requisition parts, locate parts in inventory and close and write work orders. |
|
|
Actively participate in daily shift meetings. |
|
|
Participate in TPM, AM, Continuous Improvement, and high performance Teams |
|
|
Keep personal work areas clean and organized. Must be flexible and adaptable to business needs required. Assist in training employees to identify basic mechanical issues and repair as necessary. |

1. Three years in maintenance crafts to include industrial electrical, plumbing, mechanics, welding, millwright and carpentry. |

2. Proficiency in the use of hand tools (drills, saws, grinders, presses, welders and all types of wrenches. |

3. Proficient in Window operation systems and Window based applications. |
||||
|
1 - 2 years of experience in Mechanic position preferably in the food industry. |
