We are looking to hire a Warehouser Team Manager II immediately at our Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in Byhalia, MS.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the Department Manager, the Team Manager II leads and directs Distribution Technicians through all activities and processes including receiving, transporting, storing, and shipping raw or finished good materials.  This Team Manager II will rotate through all three shifts regularly to ensure constant and regular interaction, direction setting, and leadership support with shift Crew Leaders and team members. 

 

The goal of the Team Manager II is to meet the needs of the customer 100% of the time while achieving key indicator results that support the departments’ strategic objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSMs). 

 

The Team Manager II also pro-actively ensures that organization standards are met in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability, Cost, and Service.  Additionally, through engagement with the team, the Team Manager II recommends and implements process improvement initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies and interacts with other Team Managers to coordinate activities between departments.  The Team Manager II aligns and empowers their team members in a way that excites and motivates them to meet or exceed common objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Department Manager, the Team Manager II is responsible for:

  • Full supervisory responsibilities contributing to the motivation/ development of the distribution team(s) through professional leadership
  • Direct and support the daily management of the team to prioritize work, achieve goals and foster a safe team environment
  • Effectively teach, coach, train, develop, delegate, and mentor non-exempt employees
  • Create a cohesive organization across shifts to include regularly rotating through all three shifts to ensure constant and ongoing interaction, direction setting and leadership support with shift Crew Leaders and team members
  • Collaborate with other areas to support total facility objectives including, but not limited to; Materials Management, QA, HR, Continuous Improvement, Facilities/Maintenance, Customer Service, Export, Logistics, etc.
  • Effectively supporting site specific goals relating to Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, Service & Employee Engagement
  • Continuously pursue personal mastery in leadership and management skills
  • Effectively using Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP to manage daily work
  • Work with teams to develop cultural and business action plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the facility 
  • Utilizes problem solving tools and methodologies to implement continually improve processes within the function
  • This role also assists with other DCs within the North American Region to assist with standardized process development and problem solving. 
  • The role helps and supports peer team managers. The Team Manager II provides mentorship to their peers and Team Manager I’s.
  • This role serves as the backup to their Department Manager and takes on assigned tasks delegated by the Department Manager
  • This role serves as the backup for other Team Managers within the same area
  • Effectively commits to personal development using available resources and tools 
  • Promotes positive working relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Takes initiative and feels empowered to make decisions with minimum guidance
  • Continuously involved in developing direct reports 
  • Creates and drives engagement for their department
  • Continue System Ownership, Documentation and Training

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Meets all requirements of the Team Manager I job description
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/ or equivalent experience –
  • Minimum of 3 years as a MKC Team Manager I or equivalent role, with an academic degree or equivalent work experience in the related field
  • Experience managing performance and profitability

  • Proven ability to handle complexity, analyze information, and implement company vision/ business goals
  • Demonstrated ownership of a site-wide system
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries, in-depth understanding of how own area integrates with other areas
  • Experience with successfully leading cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Demonstrated ability to develop others
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory is required.
  • Formal leadership training and demonstrated practice of leadership principles
  • Experience developing, coaching, and motivating employees in a team-based environment
  • Understanding of the cost benefits and economic logic of how decisions affect business results
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days across three shifts to meet business and employee needs

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • Advanced supervisory experience is a plus (must have proven experience leading team(s) of non-exempt direct reports)
