We are a leading manufacturing company with a strong presence in Australia and are seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated Costing Officer to join our Finance team based in Clayton.

Position Overview

 

As a Costing Officer, you will support the Senior Finance Managers by ensuring accurate and up-to-date standard costs for products from New Product Development through to commercialization. You will use multiple systems to analyze cost movements and compare supply sources. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and maintain product and process costing information.
  • Set up raw materials, packaging COGS, Co-Pack rates, and overall COGS in SAP and QAD.
  • Review BOMs and Routes to calculate cost impacts of production changes.
  • Liaise with various teams to confirm costing assumptions.
  • Attend NPD meetings to stay updated on incoming costings.
  • Ensure SLA of 3 business days for costings is met.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain up-to-date SOPs and participate in ad hoc projects.

Ideal Candidate

 

The ideal candidate for the Costing Officer role will possess a blend of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement. They will thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment and be able to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

 

Key Attributes:

 

  • Must demonstrate at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment in similar role.
  • Possess a strong understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet, particularly in relation to production costs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (SAP, QAD)
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships across the Supply Chain and Operations functions.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy in costing.
