Maintenance Fitter - Afternoon, Clayton South

 

  • Full-time permanent role on afternoon shift (2pm - 10.30pm Monday - Friday) plus RDOs

We are looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to work alongside others in a dynamic and fast paced manufacturing environment. An effective communicator with a customer service-focused personality who can engage with all levels of staff; you will be highly organised, solutions focused with an eye for continuous improvement. Experience working with Operational Excellence Programs / Lean Manufacturing will be an advantage.

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for carrying out all scheduled and required repairs and regular maintenance work of plant equipment
  • Perform any reasonable task, as directed, that is within the incumbent’s qualifications, skills and experience, provided the task does not pose a health and safety risk
  • Ensuring that manufacturing lines are repaired and operational within a required time frame
  • Assisting with the installation of new plant equipment and structures in the production and warehouse areas
  • Observing all procedures, directions and training provided in relation to OH&S, and report immediately any hazard or behaviour which could result in an injury. Required to follow Safe Manufacturing Practices (SOP)
  • Responsible for completing all documentation regarding maintenance work according to company standards. Accurate records must be kept of all failures, repairs, replacements and ancillary maintenance data
  • Service job orders across 25 production lines

 

About You

 

  • Trade qualification in the relevant field, you will have advanced understanding of production machine operation and ability to follow Safe Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • FMCG would be highly regarded
  • Ability to build rapport across the organisation and communicate effectively in high pressure situations
  • Sound ability to operate a PC (email, word processing)
  • Must have CMMS experience
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot and fix any mechanical and machinery breakdowns and perform required adjustments to enable machinery to operate
  • Experience working within an ‘continuous improvement/program to excellence’ framework would be highly desirable
