McCormick’s Passion for Flavour is brought to life through our consumer brands and through some of the most recognised Quick service restaurants both here in Australia and globally.  This 12 month contract role will report to the Sensory & Consumer Science Manager (APZ) and be responsible for all trained panelist programs and assist with consumer data to ensure we put the the voice of the consumer at the centre of everything we do.  The ideal candidate will have a degree in the Food Science field and will have an appetite for learning, a can-do attitude, and a passion for food and flavour.

Role Responsibilities   

 

  • Responsible for sample preparation, set-up, data analysis and report writing on all projects where sensory & end user consumer data is required to provide actionable product development guidance

  • Collecting consumer insights for our consumer and customers businesses to assist with new product development pipeline activity

  • Developing relationships with product development, culinary, flavour solutions account managers & brand managers 

  • Conducts, and manages trained panelist programs by leading training for new & current employees with the implementation of best practice sensory methodology

  • Assists with recruiting and report & presentation writing for quantitative and qualitative methods. including category growth team, online focus groups, home use tests and central location testing

  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the sensory laboratory and ordering of supplies

 

Technical Skills & Experience Required    

 

  • Qualifications ideally in Food science and up to 2 years lab or related food experience

  • Experience within the Microsoft Office suite essential and in addition online survey and sensory software (i.e. Compusense, Survey Monkey) experience is desirable 

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with the ability to build rapport across all areas of the business, including stakeholders and customers

  • You can demonstrate confidence and the ability to present to key stakeholders and train employees

  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimum supervision, under pressure while performing multiple priorities  

  • You will be a highly motivated, team player who enjoys working collaboratively with a strong attention to detail
