Job Description

Responsible for supporting R&D PepsiCo functions including leading Flavor Program, supporting all pilot plant trials and the laboratory administration and support to ensure business continuity.

Development of innovative new products and the optimization of existing products within cost guidelines, customer specifications and the legal requirements to meet customers or internal needs. Responsible for providing technical support to clients typically via preparing finished samples an-in plant support.

Completes moderately difficult assignments through the application of a broad knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures inherent to the particular discipline, working under the general supervision of a higher-level professional person To assist and leverage the development of new flavors/ingredients and new methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting R&D PepsiCo functions including leading Flavor Program for LATAM, support all pilot plant trials and the laboratory administration as well as support business continuity including internal operations area requests, productivity, etc

• Product development activities may include product/ingredients applications, bench top formulations, sample preparations, sample labeling, product/applications evaluation, and commercializations activities including scale-up to customer approval of production. Responsible for timely and accurately updating of formulations, ingredients, technology and files, and protecting McCormick´s and customer´s proprietary information.

• Contact ingredient vendors for information or samples as required for projects activities and foster a vendor or professional network.

• Performs assigned tasks to assist other PD staff and could participate on a cross-functional teams including QA, Regulatory, Marketing, Sensory and Operations members when assigned.

Requiments

• Bachelor´s In food Science/Techology, Food Engineering Chemistry or related field
• Inglés Avanzado
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment use, as well as knowledge of safety issues.
• 1-4 years of Food product development experience
• Good computer skills including intermediate level of knowledge of Excel, Lotus Notes, Word and Power Point.  Knowledge of WinCHEM and SAP (Deseable)
• Ability to interpret data and solve problems with incomplete information. Ability to manage risk in making decisions in (specific /internal) cases
• Experience working on product development projects
• Good communciation skills (verbal and written) required as internal and external (vendors and customers) communication is frequent
