Manager, Global Cloud Operations

Position Overview: 

The Global Server & Storage Operations Manager is accountable for all Server and Storage platforms within McCormick including hardware, hypervisors, operating systems, storage & backup systems, Citrix and directory services.

 

The Global Server & Storage Operations Manager is a key business contact and will manage the provider to define and deliver platform solutions that drive business growth and support business projects. To accomplish this, you will work closely with McCormick infrastructure, service delivery, solutions delivery, business solutions, solutions architecture, security, and infrastructure providers to effectively manage McCormick’s Global Server environment. You will report to the Director of Global Infrastructure Services and oversee the activities of a Managed Service Provider.

 

Key Responsibilites: 

 

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in IT and business. Collaborate with various parties to define service delivery requirements for current and future needs. Manage internal customer escalations.
  • Oversee a Managed Service Provider. Provide leadership on operational activities and guidance on processes, review SLAs and inventory reporting. Review change & incident tickets from quality and technical standpoint, define pre-approved change templates, review problem tickets and provide direction on preventative actions.
  • Manage onboarding and contractor renewal.
  • Manage vendor relations with VMware, Dell ECM, Nutanix, Citrix, Microsoft as well as Value-Added Resellers. Escalate support concerns, make procurement decisions, review vendor offering and roadmaps.
  • Work closely with MSP and vendors to manage lifecycle of hardware and software, perform capacity planning, plan and execute hardware refreshes, review and renew maintenance contracts. Work with internal stakeholders to align technology stack with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architecture to review and evaluate new technology, define standards and strategy. Review and provide sign-off for architectural designs.
  • Manage budget and seek cost containment opportunities.
  • Oversee quarterly SOX audits related to operations & logical access, support ad-hoc audit requests from internal & external auditors. Review and approve access and perform periodic review of compliance with policies and standards.
  • Provide project sponsorship and oversight.

 

Qualifications/ Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a significant working experience (10 or more years)
  • 6+ year experience working in a 24x7 global enterprise environment
  • 8+ year experience delivering IT projects, actively participating on virtual teams, developing strategic goals and performing incident resolution in a regional or international context.
  • 8+ year experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems including Active Directory, DNS & DHCP
  • 8+ year experience with Unix/Linux operating Systems
  • 8+ year VMware experience
  • 8+ year storage, backup & replication experience
  • 8+ year experience with high availability, business continuity, disaster planning and recovery measures.
  • 4+ year public cloud IAAS experience (Azure, AWS)
  • 6+ year experience with formal team leadership
  • Experience with working with managed service providers
  • Experience with best practices such as ITIL V3
