Consumer Business Development Manager

Consumer Business Development lead for the McCormick India team will play a pivotal role in identifying high potential ideas to build the consumer business in India for Domestic, and exports sales – grounded on relevant consumer and category insights and trends. The incumbent will also have overall ownership to lead the idea qualification (working in collaboration with the Insights team), prepare launch plan (with multi-functional team collaboration), and build the overall execution launch plan to help achieve agreed brand equity, sales and profit objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Develop and build new business for McCormick India consumer business in collaboration with distribution partner

 

  • Ensure that an effective distribution network is set up in line with the company / brand Strategy and work very closely with distribution partner and their sales force.  Define & communicate coverage norms and ensure implementation as per the guidelines.
  • Develop distributors to channel partners to improve and build on business hygiene elements like inventories, sales etc.
  • Maintain Relationships with Retailer and Distributors to Ensure Regular Purchase Cycle is Maintained and Preparing Sales Budget and other Sales Related Reports Including, Weekly Reports, Monthly Sales Plan Etc.
  • Responsible for preparing launch plans / GTM for new markets / gap areas of existing markets & successfully launching McCormick products as per the distribution plan in close coordination with the distributor partner.
  • Set, monitor & ensure achievement of brand wise and area wise distribution targets for outlets under direct coverage for both region and channel.
  • Achieve distribution product goals for Channels across markets and customers. Clearly have a matrix of distribution for products as per customer type.
  • Ensure timely service to the distributors, in the areas of delivery of stocks.

  • Ensure contact to distributors as per company norms, to share information and motivate them so that they are fully involved in the business.

  • Use market data, on market share and distribution trends, develop innovative plans to improve market share and distribution in consultations with Sales head.

  • Monitor, analyze and report the Competitor Price, Promotions, new launches and Marketing activities to take the necessary steps to ensure the sales targets happen and report the same

 

Develop overall commercial & business case for the qualified launch ideas for India consumer business

 

  • Lead product innovation (NPL and NPD) for the McCormick portfolio of brands /products while collaborating closely with the Insights team, Commercialization manager (process manager), R&D, Sales, Factory, Finance and other cross functional teams as needed.

 

Build the commercial launch plan for aligned ideas, translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies

 

  • Work with manpower agency / Promoter / Merchandiser on achieving execution excellence and share of shelf in line with goals
  • Work in collaboration with marketing team to Manage and report McCormick owned digital experience and engaging all consumers in the digital space.
  • Work in collaboration with marketing team for Paid media execution such as FB, IG, Google, Programmatic Media, Influencers, Ecommerce media to drive the most effective and efficient results.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

MBA  in Sales & Marketin. 

5+ years consumer products marketing and sales experience, preferably FMCG Organisations. Prior experience working with MNC and on premium / imported brands / categories preferable.

business relationships internally and externally and leverage into business and relate to contacts at the lab bench level and the board room level
