JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for leading, mentoring, and empowering a team of data engineers to develop, optimize, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure in order to deliver and support high quality enterprise-wide analytics and visualization needs.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of scalable data solutions to ensure seamless integration and accessibility for Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Provide high-level technical guidance, review and approve architectural decisions and technical designs to ensure best practices in data engineering (e.g., data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data quality).
Data Infrastructure and Ecosystem
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies to guide strategic decisions and plan for scaling data infrastructure to meet future growth and demand.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and other technical leaders to conceptualize, architect, and implement enterprise-grade databases and data ecosystems.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Strategic Alignment
- Act as a strategic partner to the business by aligning data engineering priorities with organizational goals and supporting cross-functional teams as needed.
- Facilitate collaboration between data engineering and other teams (i.e. data science, analytics, and IT) to ensure smooth communication and alignment of data initiatives.
Team Management and Agile Delivery
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the data engineering team, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and progress tracking.
- Drive agile delivery practices and timely project deliveries while managing risks and dependencies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Discipline:
- Bachelor’s in Data Analytics or similar discipline.
- Minimum 7 years in a Professional Related Field.
Minimum Experience Required:
- Understanding of enterprise data sources to drive visibility of top losses.
- Familiarity with creating data sets in Azure or similar data lake environment.
- Comfortable working with structured data.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively solve problems.
- Learn and execute analytics and automation technologies and improve systems.
- Experience leading engineering projects from initial request to final data exposure.
Certifications and/or Licenses : MS Azure certification (preferred)
Other Skills & Competencies:
- Work closely with fellow analysts, Change Management team, and functional solution leads.
- Confident leading teams to successful projects and meet business objectives and priorities
- Maintain a sense of urgency to meeting scheduling plans and customer requirements.
- General business acumen.
- Ability to learn and implement new Analytics and automations tools.
- Able to merge business questions/needs with available data to provide data-driven insights.
