Position Overview
Reporting into the HR Business Partner supporting the Commercial business, this HR Generalist / Assistant role provides essential operational and administrative support across a broad range of HR activities. The position plays a key role in enabling the HRBP to operate strategically and autonomously, contributing to the delivery of people initiatives that support organizational performance and employee engagement across the Commercial function and Site. With minimal supervision, the role also represents the Human Relations function, consulting with business units and HR colleagues to identify people-related needs and contribute to effective solutions. It supports the development and implementation of core HR processes including employee relations, recruitment, and training, helping to embed our culture and values while shaping and executing the broader people roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Strategic Support
Prepare documentation, presentations, and reports to support HRBP-led meetings and strategic projects. Provide support to the HR Director on employee relations and compliance topics as needed.
Address HR queries – policy / benefit related
Guide employees and managers on policy interpretation, and other simple HR queries. Apply sound judgment and consultation with HR Director in resolving issues, support investigations/disciplinary processes, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
HR Programs & Processes
Administer HR programs and practices in alignment with company philosophy and core values (Support performance management sessions, engagement surveys, learning activities, local townhall planning). Partner with HR expert functions to ensure effective deployment.
Employee Engagement
Act as a trusted partner for employees, maintain HR visibility on the floor, support morale, and embed company culture and values through initiatives and day-to-day interactions. Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, escalating to the HRBP as needed.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with HR expert functions (Social Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Talent & Learning, Talent Acquisition, and Internal Communications) to ensure appropriate deployment of HR processes (Talent review, Employee Engagement Survey, Annual Salary review, Learning activities, etc).
Project Execution
Drive HR initiatives and projects with high ownership and accountability. Ensure timely execution and measurable outcomes.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to improving HR processes, tools, and systems. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Required Qualifications
Level of Education and Discipline:
HR related qualification, MBA preferred (not mandatory)
Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen:
8+ years’ HR Support and/or Generalist experience required. Exposure to working with diverse teams and stakeholders, ideally within a matrixed or cross-functional environment. Working knowledge of India Labour Laws with some experience supporting employee relations in a fast-paced setting. Experience assisting with or coordinating talent development activities and HR initiatives.
Interpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence:
Ability to build strong working relationships across different levels of the organization.
Comfortable supporting change initiatives and contributing to their successful implementation.
Experience supporting managers with people-related matters, including basic coaching or guidance under supervision.
Able to work independently on routine tasks while knowing when to escalate or seek guidance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- 8–10 years of HR Generalist experience with exposure to both administrative HR and strategic partnering.
- Strong professional maturity, articulate communication, and confidence in handling sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated ability to execute initiatives/projects with ownership and accountability.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
- Skilled in balancing employee advocacy with organizational priorities.
- High adaptability, problem-solving ability, and resilience in dynamic environments.
