Integration Engineer - Data Virtualization

Position Overview 

The position of Integration Engineer for Data Virtualization is a multi-faceted role; you will be working with various internal project teams positioning Data Virtualization as a key solution component in the project's data architecture, and with internal customers, helping them to expand their use of the Denodo Platform and navigate through their Data Virtualization journey. This role requires a mixture of technical knowledge, business acumen, and influencing skills. The role will be able to discuss technology with the technologists and architecture with the enterprise architects, and support requirements with the AMS provider.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

-Responsible to work directly with engineers, architects, technical teams, and leadership (both business and IT) in order to understand business and technical requirements and develop conceptual and logical information data models within the context of the Denodo and ERP Platforms and Target system understanding

-Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Models for Enterprise Class Data Initiatives and Design system architecture considering organization's business process models and business flows, and advice about the evolution of that for new business models considering the expansion of Denodo's data virtualization technology in the organization's IT ecosystem.

-Responsible for Installation, configuration, monitoring and support of Denodo platform including upgrades and maintenance of security.

-Address a majority of technical questions concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of the Data Virtualization product.

-Triage & Diagnose any issues including errors and performance topics. Work with Denodo technical support & the AMS Provider in leading to resolution.

-Ensure defined governance processes and best practice documentation and internal knowledgebase documentation is being followed and conduct review HLD/TSDs produced by the implementation partners

 

Additional/Secondary Responsibilities:

-Work with the Internal Analytics Community on identifying how Data Virtualization can assist/complement the cloud tooling being considered to fulfil their business requirements.

-Involved in Integration Governance Council for Technical review of System Integrator team's HLD & TSD documents.

-Maintain continuous personal learning and development to remain technological relevancy in current and emerging technologies.

 

Educational Qualifications and Experience

 

-University Degree relating to information systems or computer science (Bachelor or Master).

-Denodo Certified Professional

-Minimum 10+ years of experience in Information technology ,5+ years of working experience with a Data Virtualzation solution (Denodo) with Administration and development in Denodo Administration experience to include installation, configuration, security, cache management in a highly available enterprise environment.

Experience with developing efficient mapping of data sources, data movements, and analytics ensuring data quality and integrity.

• Innovative thinker - able to turn customer requirements into workable solutions

• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

- Being available for working outside of normal business hours, holidays, and some weekends when needed for escalations during on-call periods.

-Good Understanding of Integration Domain is a must (EAI / SOA / BPM / API / ETL).

Solid understanding of SQL and good grasp of relational and analytical database management theory and practice.

Good knowledge of JDBC, Web Services APIs, XML, JMS, Web technologies and Cloud environments.

Understanding of LDAP, SSL and other security concepts.

Good knowledge of query optimization and analysis of SQL execution plans in context of heterogeneous joins.

Other experience of DW/BI is a plus.
