Position Overview

The SAP BTP Middleware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The role focuses on building secure, scalable, and reusable integrations leveraging middleware capabilities such as SAP Integration Suite, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
The engineer collaborates closely with functional teams, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate integration requirements into robust technical solutions. They design and implement integration flows, manage APIs, ensure message transformation and routing, and enforce best practices around security, performance, and governance.
Additionally, the role involves driving innovation through the adoption of modern integration patterns, cloud-native approaches, and automation. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Provide hands on development and support for cloud and hybrid integrations, including SAP and third-party systems, following enterprise integration standards.
- Build and manage secure APIs using SAP API Management (APIM), including policy enforcement, lifecycle management, and monitoring.
- Develop and support integrations using Edge Integration Cell for hybrid connectivity and on-premise integration scenarios.

- Automate and set up build pipelines and deployments to support CI/CD capabilities
- Support Business As Usual (BAU) integration operations, including incident resolution, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring.
- Collaborate with architects, functional teams, and external partners to define integration patterns, reusable assets, and best practices.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to support consistent integration approaches across the organization.
- Support after‑hours or on‑call activities for critical integration services, as required.
- Assist in developing user documentation, specifications, and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of APIs, Swagger, WSDL, and XSD. Responsible for Implementing API security policies, oAuth, JWT, JWE, and HMAC

Level of Education and Discipline
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications or related Technology streams
Certification and/or Licenses
SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Integration Suite (Must)
Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen
Interpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively on technical and business issues both internally and externally • Solid leadership skills are essential • Proficiency in leading both physical and virtual, global and culturally diverse teams • Ability to work independently, navigate problems, resolve conflicts and bring solutions into the table
