Position Overview
This role will be responsible for utilizing advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, and data engineering techniques to extract actionable insights from diverse datasets. The candidate should have a robust understanding of key AI / ML concepts and combine their expertise in data, computational science, and technology with MKC consumer-oriented business knowledge. Will drive high-value insights into the organization and steer strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Mine and analyze data from enterprise sources by applying statistics, machine learning, and analytic approaches to drive insights and recommendations for the business — 10%
• Collaborate with business SMEs, functional solution leads, and IT partners to deploy scalable end-to-end AI/ML-infused systems — 25%
• Build end-to-end AI/ML solutions by selecting and justifying appropriate algorithms, model architectures, deployment environments, and user interface approaches based on business objectives, data characteristics, and technical constraints; lead model optimization, performance tuning, and lifecycle management to ensure scalable, secure, and production-grade solutions that continuously deliver measurable business value — 25%
• Train ML models using historical data and assess their performance against predefined historical metrics — 30%
• Lead and collaborate with teammates by offering technical advice and consultations for optimizing solutions — 10%
Secondary Responsibilities
• Ability to achieve project goals and objectives by applying the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful project completion
• Continuously seek out industry best practice and skills to develop new capabilities for data analytics at McCormick and help drive our digital transformation
• Assist in building coworker’s analytical skillsets and with technical project implementations
Required Qualifications
Level of Education and Discipline:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, or related field
Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen
• Advanced analytical skillset. Proficiency in cleaning, visualizing, transforming, analyzing, and presenting insights from data sets
• Demonstrated ability coding in one or more languages (Python required)
• Architecting scalable data solutions and using cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Demonstrated ability developing full ML workflow training applying, integrating, optimizing, deploying and scaling AI/ML models, timeseries and NLP applications
• Implementation of robust ML OPS
• Experience with data visualization software (Power BI preferred)
• Communicate results of projects to business leaders (storytelling) and work with stakeholders to map product requirements to determine the algorithm / model output that needs to be built

Preferred Qualifications
Level of Education and Discipline- Master's Degree in related field
Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen
Experience with SQL queries
Knowledge of other Data Science skills such as graph databases, Generative AI and RAG, ML Opps, significance testing etc.
Experience implementing solutions for sales and consumption forecasting
Experience with an SAP ERP system preferred
