Position Summary
As a key member of the North American Sales team, the Inside Sales Sr Associate Account Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining and growing small to mid-level regional customer accounts, increasing perception of service levels and preference for FONA. This position reports to the Inside Sales Manager and directly interfaces with Customers, Customer Service, Marketing, Application Managers and Scientists, Flavorists, Business Unit Directors, Regulatory, Project Coordinators and other Account Executives.
Responsibilities
• Ensure timely and accurate support to provide necessary detailed information to allow for meeting the customer’s needs on a daily basis.
o Active participation in sensory panels both formal and informal in support of customer projects; Active participation in industry association relevant to market segments, professional organizations, or flavor industry; Actively demonstrate willing, able, growing, future potential, financially contributing, and commitment to M.C. FONA. Continually grow and develop through continuing education courses and learning opportunities offered through FONA and outside professional organizations.
• Prioritize, manage, grow, and forecast opportunities within an innovation funnel in conjunction with internal Sales Operations and Business Unit functions to attain profitable sales growth
• Increase mid-level account service satisfaction by leveraging Marketing and BU tools and acting as the internal ambassador for small to mid-level accounts
• Achieve 100% business retention of small to mid-level account sales (with assumed attrition of 7%). Drive sales growth through increased sample submissions
• Increase territory margins through improved pricing practices, forecasting, and customer education
• Professionally lead, manage and communicate customer expectations and needs through FONA’s CRM program, Salesforce.com
• Foster collaborative relationships with Customers and internal support teams.
• Effectively utilize Business Unit resources, Corporate Marketing and Technology and Innovation to help support customer’s development of new products and concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training
- Strong relationships skills across both technical and procurement professionals are essential
- Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc.
- Experienced with Salesforce.com or other similar CRM software is preferred.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who is a forward-thinking problem solver with a strong work ethic;
- Effective written and verbal communications skills that are clear, concise, and appropriate in timing and directed to appropriate levels.
- Strong organization skills; ability to juggle shifting priorities and move projects forward despite ambiguity.
