We are looking to hire an Account Manager Associate II immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our McFONA site in Geneva, IL.

Position Summary

The Associate Account Manager within the Business Development team will play a key role in driving revenue growth, managing and expanding client relationships, and ensuring the success of customer accounts within the flavors industry. This individual will be responsible for a large amount of small to mid-level regional customers and be tasked with working to identify new business opportunities, converting new accounts through the pipeline & into customers, and overseeing accounts move through the revenue cycle in areas of Food, Beverage, Health and Nutrition. A understanding of flavors, seasonings, and ingredients, the ability to influence client decisions, and an entrepreneurial & customer focused mindset will be crucial to success in this role.  This role will report into the Director of Business Development and can be located in our Geneva, IL or Hunt Valley MD office (hybrid 50% of the time).  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with accounts across the territory. Ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty by providing tailored solutions in custom flavors, seasonings, and ingredients Articulating McCormick’s added value a daily basis.
  • Participate annually in account promotion process to move customers through the revenue cycle & into field sales
  • Prioritize, manage, forecast & hunt for new opportunities leveraging Salesforce and utilizing the pipeline funnel. Partner with Sales Ops, Commercialization, Marketing, R&D and other support teams to win profitable sales growth and meet targets
  • With support, oversee projects from conception through execution, ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are met.
  • Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Customer Care and Commercialization to deliver high-quality solutions and ensure effective solutions & services to customers. Scale this by leveraging existing tools where possible for the small to mid-level accounts within the territory
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and market opportunities using data
  • Increase territory profit margins through improved pricing practices, forecasting, customer education and other initiatives, leveraging product line knowledge
  • Stay current with food industry trends, evolving customer needs & McCormick tools to ensure the company's offerings remain competitive and innovative. Builds connections across the industry.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of professional career experience, ideally with some customer-facing exposure. Food industry or B2B experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within the customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc.
  • Ability to understand and translate customer needs into actionable solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), presentation & negotiating skills with ability to adapt and listen to others perspectives as needed
  • Strong organization skills: ability to manage a wide range of projects efficiently and move projects forward despite ambiguity

Base Salary: $52,830 to $92,440
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive Total Rewards programs that include:
