We are looking to hire an Material Planner II role immediately at our McFONA Manufacturing Plant in Geneva, IL.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Production/Material Planning Manager, responsible for acquiring raw materials and indirect supplies to support production and R&D needs in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.  Continuous focus on price, service, and quality for competitive service to customers and drive business growth.  Has awareness of market trends and knowledge of industry suppliers and has a sense of urgency.  Adheres to safety/GMP procedures and ensures a safe working environment be audit ready 24/7.  Works with cross functional teams, scheduling, quality, regulatory, procurement, and product development to meet our customers’ needs.  Manages, develops, and maintains relationships with internal and external vendors.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and purchase standard for MTO demand, industry common contracted material requirements by balancing inventory goals vs. MRP production requirements.
  • Supply Planning-Analyzes product usages to maintain minimum inventory levels to optimize both cost and service with minimum.   Continuous process to balance customer service/growth with disposal avoidance.
  • Partner centricity to manage existing supplier relationships, cultivate new supplier to relationships, and ensure that all standards for quality and service are met by suppliers. Interact with Plant Leadership to specify the precise product standards and service criteria that is expected from McCormick suppliers. Optimizes buying power and CBAs (current best approaches) by working collaboratively with Buyers from other McCormick divisions.
  • Serves as liaison to provide feedback and recommendations for improvement to vendor performance and issues.
  • Alternate or requalification sourcing projects to support growth and minimize supply risk and competitive pricing.  Includes documentation needs.
  • Raw material that include new introductions to portfolio, requalification, or alternate source projects for derisking.    Sales Force knowledge and sense of urgency to drive speed of project duration time

 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree at minimum.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing or technical background in a related field. Strong contractual / negotiation and written and verbal communication skills. Must possess appropriate level of business sense. Ability to read detailed and technical reports and interpret the data. Demonstrated proficiency with PC software, especially SAP or AX Microsoft AX Dynamics, Excel , Word. Must be organized and methodical and able to remember a variety of processes.  Possess industry knowledge to include vendors.  Knowledge of tools available in the industry to effectively monitor performance indicators.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing or technical background in a related field. Strong contractual / negotiation and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to compose various written correspondence to internal and external vendors and coworkers.  Adaptability and ability to prioritize tasks and project work based on fast past make to order business. 
  • Basic computer knowledge, WORD, Excel, Sales Force, MRP experience

 

Base Salary: $60,000-$65,000

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
