POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commercial Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting all key financial activities supporting the McFONA team. This includes coordination, analysis and recommendations towards management reporting, annual plan, budget, quarterly forecast, Integrated Business Planning, general ledger review, pricing initiatives, scenario planning, and ad hoc projects. This position is responsible for analyzing and providing key financially driven insights to cross functional business partners, and actively participates in both short and long-term decision-making activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serving as a key business partner to support the commercial team’s short-term projects and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Participating in business planning and providing data-based analytics to offer actionable insights to assist in key decision making
  • Providing monthly business reporting, analysis, and insights versus forecast, budget and prior year
  • Coordinating with a wide variety of cross functional business partners to develop inputs for financial modelling
  • Managing, analyzing and communicating complex financial models for business team P&L’s, pricing actions and ad hoc projects
  • Providing analytics support and visibility to new product and commercialization process
  • Using critical thinking in the decision-making process to draw upon professional experience, market and industry knowledge, data and intuition
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams and various management levels within McCormick and presenting to high-level audiences
  • Utilizing best practice financial reporting to meet the needs of the functional leaders, external authorities, and the stakeholders of the Company
  • Utilizing systems to improve analytics and processes to drive data-based insights

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA/CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting / financial analysis preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment or other supply chain / costing area preferred
  • Experience participating on projects, supporting sales and marketing initiatives, preferred
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction & reporting systems including, but not limited to SAP, Power BI, TM1, or other local systems.
  • In-depth understanding of available reporting, drill down capabilities, and ability to organize data in a way that adds value to analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Power Point), with advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communications skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions & cultures, and interact with all levels of the organization required
  • Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information and to proactively initiate action steps required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once, work under pressure, apply judgment and ask for aid in prioritizing as applicable required
