Position Summary
Reporting to the Sample Services Supervisor, this position provides compounding and manufacturing sample fulfillment support to the Sample Services Department. Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and Food Safety and Hygiene regulations
- Understand Raw Material code, Lot numbering and WMS locator systems
- Accurately scan, weigh and record ingredients to produce base, GE’s and other compounds
- Ability to take a request from Batchmaster, create batch ticket and follow through completion
- Understand and follow Batch Ticket instructions
- Knowledge of batch documents and Quality Assurance sampling requirements and procedures, MSDS and warning labels
- Knowledge of ingredients to determine solubility and potentially hazardous or volatile materials
- Understand concept of optimum First-Time yield and its impact on work, resources and cost in overall operation. Know how to correct, coach and notify appropriate personnel, and be viewed as a resource by others on processing procedures.
- Ability to lead and train other compounders
- Ability to assign work and formulate schedule to meet both internal and external customer needs
- Responsible for inventory management and maintain locator accuracy in the Compounding area.
- Ability to properly operate a forklift (certification required)
- Good math and communication skills
- Thoroughly understand material and equipment hazards
- Perform all duties in a safe manner using appropriate personal protective equipment
- Ensure timely and accurate support to the needs of the department to allow for meeting the 24-hour sample turnaround pledge on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor Degree preferred; or 4-years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Customer Service oriented, good math skills and attention to quality and detail are essential.
- Well-organized and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Lead by example and is responsible for Housekeeping, Sanitation, Inventory Accuracy and adherence to Safety rules in the Sample Services area.
- Maintain 24/7 Audit-Ready facility
- Assists Sample Services Supervisor in planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems in the Sample Services Area
- Ability to proficiently and accurately calculate figures, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
- Ability to accurately perform routine data entry in a proficient manner
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Working Conditions
Typical manufacturing environment with frequent interaction with lab and office environments; need for lifting up to 100 lbs is helpful to carry out all duties.
Must understand material and equipment hazards and perform duties in a safe manner utilizing recognized safe practices and/or appropriate personal protective equipment; must promptly notify supervisor of any unsafe acts or conditions.
