McCormick & Company, Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor and seasonings industry, is seeking a full time HR Business Partner II supporting McCormick's North America Flavor Solutions team. This hybrid role will be based in our FONA site in Geneva, IL and has the opportunity to work remotely up tp 50% of the time. The HR Business Partner II will report to the HR Director, North America Flavor Solutions.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Relations Business Partner consults with Senior leaders and employees to identify the people strategy and provide HR partnering for rhe Flavor business, supporting Sales, Marketing and Product Development teams. This position creates and executes the direction, development, and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes, and training programs.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a strategic business partner providing guidance to managers in the interpretation of company policies, procedures, and programs consistent with McCormick’s philosophy and core values
  • Ensures an effective performance management process, coaching staff and managers on total compensation, annual reviews, and workforce planning 
  • Leads recruitment and selection activities including working with functional leaders to determine position requirements, preparing postings, participating in the screening and selection process, and providing feedback and guidance to hiring managers
  • Partners with the business to provide counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws, and company policies and procedures. Applies judgment and creativity when drawing conclusions and developing solutions
  • Analyzes and makes recommendation decisions to support department people goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Spearheads HR processes including talent assessment, employee engagement surveys, performance management, and variable compensation planning with support of the centers of excellence.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or another related field
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in HR or a closely related field
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership responsibility, including projects/processes
  • Strong verbal, written, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • HRIS experience
  • Experience coaching /counseling across levels and functions
  • Tact, confidentiality, diplomacy, and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience successfully managing projects and programs
  • Strong teamwork skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PHR or SPHR Certification
  • Experience supporting integration efforts for a CPG/Retail company
  • SAP experience
  • Experience managing exempt and non exempt employee groups
  • Previous experience supporting a Sales team
