McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Intern at McFONA located at 1900 Averill Rd, Geneva, IL. This is a 10-week internship (June 2024 - August 2024) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:
- Education: Working toward BS in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Science or related field
General Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Intern develops, administers and coordinates Production activities shift ensuring a clean and safe environment for all production employees, the highest level of quality and service for all our customers, while managing various initiatives and projects assigned by Plant Manager.
This position is primarily responsible for maximizing resources towards the successful completion of the daily schedule. Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Time study on processes
- Time study on operator uptimes
- Daily audit of floor
- Daily attendance of shift supervisor
- Daily Gemba walk with team
- Weekly audit of plant with cross functional teams
- Daily schedule review
- Daily metric reporting
- Daily data of Attainment
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Job Competencies
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the ability to redirect efforts based upon shifting demands.
- Ability to collaborate and network cross-functionally with colleagues to build constructive, proactive working relationships across the organization.
- Possess analytical skills to discern/diagnose trends and issues and use past historical references.
- Well-organized, provides leadership and exercises sound judgment in decision-making.
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Formula Management system. In absence of knowledge related to one or more of the above software systems, must demonstrate ability to learn the needed software system.
- Ability to proficiently and accurately calculate figures, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to accurately perform routine data entry in a proficient manner, and data management auditing and review.
- Ability to work within teams in both leadership and supportive roles (project dependent).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide direction to staff.
Position Scope:
Projects are simple to moderately complex in nature and require close to moderate supervision, manage a number of projects (or requests) with fixed deadlines.
