Position Overview:

 

*This role can be offered at either the Director or Senior Director level, depending on the candidate's level of experience.

 

Reporting to the VP of Global Brand Marketing and Media and matrixed to the VP of Marketing EMEA, the Director/ Senior Director of Brand Marketing EMEA will drive the leadership and strategic guidance of the communication of our message to consumers to drive sales and return for the company. They will be responsible for 1) the strategic development and execution of end to end campaigns across EMEA markets encompassing both traditional and digital media across paid, earned and owned;  2) working in collaboration with the marketing global, regional and local teams and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective strategies that optimize campaigns and deliver measurable results, including increases in household penetration, buy rate and ROI; 3) work in collaboration with country teams to bring their business objectives to life though consumer communication; 4) responsible for local agency management across media, creative, social, PR and digital to develop plans with the optimal mix across vehicles that deliver on the business objectives, reach the consumer target, drive return on investment, and deliver insights back to the organization; 5) responsible for full scope of end to end consumer journeys including digital execution across paid, earned and owned; 6) act as the single point of contact for marketing campaigns in the region including: media, creative, social, PR, digital, EMEA studio, insights, and provide oversight to the digital marketing transformation in EMEA.

They will be accountable for innovative, best-in-class marketing investment strategies and execution, creating new capabilities in a dynamic environment to drive better effectiveness and efficiencies, and will be accountable for ROI and campaign reporting including establishing measurable outcomes across our agency work with consumers and using performance metrics to drive investment strategies across businesses and brands.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing teams and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective brand marketing strategies for digital, social, and traditional channels, including leading the development of communication strategies for brands and campaigns, inclusive of communication objectives, target audience, key messages, and channels. 
  • Develop and execute comprehensive global media strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and goals, including leading global end to end media strategy, planning, execution, analysis, and optimization, creating a holistic regional process that is scalable across markets to enable the Global Marketing Operating Model but also balance the needs of the markets.
  • Work to drive consumer insights into effective consumer communication across all 360 touchpoints including but not limited to traditional and digital marketing across paid, earned and owned.
  • Strategic management of all local agencies in the region across creative, media, digital, social, PR and internal studio.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in global media and digital marketing to drive innovation and growth in the marketplace, relentless search for better performance by using a blend of external and internal resources. Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to the executive leadership on all brand and digital marketing matters and sit on EMEA leadership team.
  • Actively mentor, manage and develop team of direct reports across region and markets helping them to grow and develop in their roles and managerial skills as a high performing team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and market teams and be seen as the lead single point of contact for the brand and digital marketing ecosystem in the region.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline
  • Demonstrated relevant skills & results in FMCG marketing, advertising, digital marketing transformation, market research / insights mining, P&L management, forecasting, agency management and business planning.
  • Thorough understanding of business goals and the role that consumer communication and brand management plays in driving business success
  • Strong experience leading projects and cross functional teams, including proven ability to manage multiple projects
  • Solid foundational understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape
  • Expertise in business and brand planning, digital marketing, market research, consumer communications, finance, and promotional activities
  • Sound understanding of principles and practices in Marketing and a basic knowledge in other functional areas including Finance, Procurement, and Sales
  • Developed interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others, both internal and external
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead others; strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical skills and evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations
  • Experience managing agency relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated relevant skills & results in consumer-packaged goods marketing, forecasting, advertising, market research, consumer & trade promotion, P&L management and business planning.
  • Management and development of direct reports and team
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical and project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Fluent in English and ideally French
