Reporting to the EMEA Flavor Solutions Supply Chain and Operations Director, the Supply Chain Planning Director provides the strategic leadership and direction to drive the Flavour solutions EMEA Planning organization to support the achievement of the strategic supply chain and business objectives. The incumbent will accomplish the objectives through the establishment of clear operating strategies, objectives, goals, and action plans and drive functional excellence in the area of Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Materials Management for McCormick in EMEA Flavor Solutions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead & direct the activities of the EMEA Flavour Solutions Planning team to: (1) assure the achievement of goals and the effective balancing of critical service, cost and inventory objectives; and (2) effectively plan and manage constraints of inventory, manufacturing capacity, material requirements, copacker requirements, distribution capacity, and prevention and elimination of SLOB inventory
- Accountable for the leadership and effective execution of the Supply process thread of the EMEA Flavour Solutions Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the EMEA Planning department to support the achievement of the strategic objectives of EMEA Flavour Solutions business unit and the Global Supply Chain Operations function through the establishment of clear operating strategies, objectives, goals, and action plans.
- Lead, develop and coach Planning team and provide direct and indirect leadership to the Planning employees in HQ and plant locations in EMEA. Includes performance management, talent management and succession planning, and team development
- Establishes processes to ensure continual integrity of medium/long term planning parameters (lot size, lead times, Days of Supply, Safety Stock, etc.). Monitors key performance metrics (Case fill rate, Schedule Compliance, Time Fence Violations, Projected Inventory, SLOB) and communicates significant variances or potential future risks as needed
- Acts as single point-of-contact in major short-supply issues. Prioritizes allocation methodology / shipments according to business need. Directs all supply chain related inventory and supply/demand actions including, but not limited to material holds and allocations, as well as regulatory actions
- Effectively directs the supply planning elements for new product introductions, conversions and rationalization efforts in support of CCI
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Extensive experience in supply chain planning; the candidate should demonstrate strong supply and demand planning technical acumen, as well as solid knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and "Best Practices”.
- Extensive experience with MRP/APS systems. Knowledge of integrated Supply Chain systems (e.g., SAP APO, OMP, Kinaxis) required. Experience implementing Supply Chain Planning/APS Systems and Processes within an ERP environment, including design and implementation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results using analytical decision making, building strong relationships, and direction setting.
- Advanced analytical skills including business and financial analyses. Advanced PC application skills
- Strong problem-solving skills: leads other in problem solving and root cause analysis
- High level of negotiation and influencing skills, strong communication & ability to influence supply chain practices to suppliers and customers.
- Daily interaction with senior leadership at EMEA Flavour Solutions. Regular interaction with senior Supply Chain leaders
- Fluent English is required
