POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Vice President (VP) of IT Operations & Service Delivery to lead our global IT operations and ensure the seamless delivery of IT services. This senior leadership role will oversee application service delivery, IT infrastructure, operations, service management, and support functions, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving operational excellence. The VP is accountable for the relationship and performance of application and infrastructure managed services partners, manage a financial scope with direct control of a $20 million capital budget and influence over $100 million+ in operational spend. The successful candidate will lead a team of 8 direct reports and 40+ IT service delivery professionals in an organization of 14,000+ end users.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Develop and implement the IT operations and service delivery strategy in alignment with McCormick’s business objectives. This role will provide strategic direction for McCormick’s corporate IT systems, with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. The VP will lead and transform and mentor a global team of IT leaders, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the management of Application support & delivery, integrations and IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, servers, and cloud services. This team ensures high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems to support business operations. The VP will guide a team of senior leaders in managing and delivering IT projects and initiatives that span architecture, implementation, maintenance, and improvement, all while adhering to clear expectations, objectives, budgets, and metrics.
- Maintain executive ownership of Managed Service Providers, ensuring the effective delivery of outsourced services and solutions. Also, accountable for managing the execution of IT service delivery processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service request fulfillment. Team will team will establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality IT services. The VP will guide senior leaders in driving continuous improvement in service delivery through regular review and optimization of processes and tools.
- Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders, including functional and regional business units to understand and address their needs and priorities. The VP will proactively engage with key stakeholders (C-suite, department heads) to understand their needs and align the product roadmap with business objectives. customer satisfaction. Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with external vendors, ensuring effective delivery of outsourced services and solutions.
- Develop and manage the IT operations and service delivery budget, ensuring the cost-effective use of resources. This role involves directly overseeing a budget of at least $20 million and significantly influencing over $100 million in related capital spending, while identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains. The VP will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies, developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate risks and ensure resilience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations and service delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of managing large-scale IT infrastructure and service delivery in a global organization
- Proven experience forming, leading, developing and coaching direct and cross functional high performing teams to deliver short and long-term strategies, grow industry /process /business skills and build a robust talent pipeline
- Experience in formation of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets. Ability to perform reviews of financial analysis and understand implications to broader McCormick financial statements
- Experience working in global, multicultural environments which require cultural awareness
- Strong knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation and change
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets
- Experience in the food industry or a similar sector is a plus
