We are looking to hire a Packing Buyer in a Hybrid (60/40) capacity for our site in Mexico City. This is 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Job Description 

Under the supervision of the Category Director, incumbent coordinates and conducts the purchase of packaging to support production. The Buyer must assure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and follow appropriate accounting practices. The position is responsible for maintaining positive and constructive relationships with vendors. The Buyer is responsible for the collaborative development of strategies and programs to optimize cost, rationalize the supply base and bring value to the Corporation while mitigating risk and ensures highest levels of service, quality standards, and cost efficiency. The Buyer may also lead and assist in continuous improvement projects focused on improving packaging design, durability and cost.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Systems of High Performance (Goal Setting, Performance Management, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Training & Development, Information Systems, Rewards & Recognition) to ensure maximum benefits for the resources expended. Conducts Supplier Performance and Supplier Relationship Management by assuring vendor compliance in terms of delivery and quality. Participates in supplier reviews.
• Manage existing supplier relationships, cultivate new supplier relationships.  Manages contracts and pricing agreements w/suppliers. Participates in planning and forecasting process and establishing standard costs. Interact with Business leadership to specify the precise product standards. Optimizes buying power and CBAs (current best approaches) by working collaboratively with Buyers from other McCormick divisions.
• Builds and delivers cost improvement through effective category strategies, under the direction and leadership of the Manager. Leads and assists in continuous improvements projects focused on reducing costs and improving efficiencies
• Serve as a liaison for packaging team providing market intelligence and insights to support packaging category strategies, should cost, and horizon scanning.

Requeriments

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study required
• Professional English (Will be assessed during the process)
• 3+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment FMCG preferred with appropriate business experience in Procurement/Logistics, Information Technology, and/or Materials Management
• Knowledge in SAP
• Strong contractual / negotiation and written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Sourcing process and has developed an expertise in one or more categories
