Sales Account Manager III, Foodservice (East Coast)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Directs the strategic sales effort to ensure profitable business growth within North America across the US Non-Commercial segment ($90M). Responsibilities includes formulation and execution of sales strategies and plans to achieve growth objectives at strategic accounts, negotiations (including price action), RFPs and contracts, and overall performance & profitability of accounts. Shared responsibility for achieving the NA BFS division sales growth & profitability.  Managed Accounts include Compass | Foodbuy, Sodexo | Entegra, Premier Elior, Delaware North, AVI, Vizient, ISS Guckenheimer.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans for Managed Accounts Compass | Foodbuy, Sodexo | Entegra, Premier Elior, Delaware North, AVI, Vizient, ISS Guckenheimer for all critical projects throughout the year, gaining approval with management and other key stakeholders
  • Establish in-depth working relationships and manage activities at all levels within Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Culinary, and Operations
  • Prioritize projects within account and independently manage project activity across all product lines.  Work with MKC and Customer Finance Teams to optimize rebate structure for profitability and business growth.
  • With Sales and Marketing management involvement, develops customer pricing strategy to maximize business and profits
  • Be viewed as a critical contact for McCormick and drive customer penetration through innovation and proactive customer intimacy
  • Key Member of the overall NA BFS Team and work collaboratively across all Sales, Marketing, ME, Finance, Culinary and Product Development

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in Business, Food Science, or related field
  • Acceptable driving record including valid driver's license required
  • 5-8 years food industry sales experience or sales experience in an adjacent industry with a similar selling environment. Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc. Developed and demonstratable critical thinking skills and business acumen Highly developed written and verbal communications skills that are clear, concise, and appropriate in timing and directed to appropriate levels.
  • Vital skills include negotiation, communication, strategic thinking, relationship building, and being a team player. Incumbent must also have integrity, credibility, and trustworthiness.  Maintains relationships at the highest organizational levels within own company and with strategic customer. Established top to top level working relationships at all functions within the internal and customer organizations. Interacts both vertically and horizontally internally and externally, interactions are approximately 30% internal and 70% external.
  • Presentation Skills - Develop presentations for senior level presentations (strong PowerPoint, SalesForce, Teams and Outlook).  Negotiation Skills - Developed communication skills to negotiate internally and externally at all levels within McCormick and customers' organization. Project Stage Gate responsibility with technical and Sales/Marketing personnel. Critically evaluate opportunities and independently organizes project teams. Understands key financial drivers and has developed effective systems to monitor accounts and territory. Ensures the development and implementation of accounts plans.   • Position requires strong financial and business acumen and makes recommendations regarding the profitability of assigned products, and the potential for future opportunities.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with ability to analyze, troubleshoot, problem solve and resolve complex issues required  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Food manufacturing industry experience highly preferred
