Position Overview
The Associate Consumer Testing Scientist supports the planning and execution of consumer research studies to generate actionable insights. This role is responsible for recruiting qualified consumers, programming surveys and ballots (e.g., CompuSense), managing panelist databases, and ensuring smooth execution of consumer testing projects. The position partners closely with Sensory Scientists and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to plan, design, and execute consumer testing projects.
- Design and program screeners, online surveys, and CompuSense ballots to ensure clear and accurate data collection.
- Manage consumer recruitment, including screening questionnaire development, quota tracking, and recruitment adjustments as needed.
- Maintain and optimize the consumer database and recruitment software systems; troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Communicate directly with consumer panelists regarding recruitment, scheduling, and issue resolution.
- Ensure testing materials and instructions are clear, consumer-friendly, and aligned with study objectives.
- Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes and data collection tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Marketing, Psychology, Communications, or a related technical field; or minimum of 3 years of experience in sensory or consumer research.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow detailed, multi-step processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Windows-based systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Meets performance expectations in most recent review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer recruitment, sensory science, or consumer research.
- Experience using consumer research software platforms (e.g., CompuSense or similar tools).

Base Salary: $53,990 to $94,480
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
