We are looking to hire an Associate Scientist, Product Development immediately at our Technical Innovation Center in Hunt Valley, MD.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This Associate Scientist will support seasoning development, testing, and commercialization for industrial customers with a variety of finished product applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting innovative seasoning development through the development cycle (concept development/ideation, hands-on bench-top development, product performance testing, and commercialization)
- Providing excellent product development support for industrial customers
- Designing and managing experiments
- Investigating and assessing new ingredients and technologies for seasoning product development improvement
- Collecting and interpreting test data
- Developing and applying knowledge of seasoning ingredients and flavors, their major vendors, and performance attributes (including flavor, functionality, and quality)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS and/or MS Degree in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline
- Ability to interpret scientific data, including sensory and analytical results
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with external and internal customers
- High degree of ownership and professional commitment
- Proven success multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Strong intellectual curiosity and innovative thinking skills
- Culinary/Food interest
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS Degree
- Experience with SAP, product formulary and retrieval systems
- Familiarity with sensory testing and applying sensory testing to the product development process

Base Salary: $53,990 to $94,480
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
