Position Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Site Continuous Improvement Manager, this position is responsible for

providing leadership, direction, and functional expertise to the site in implementing a world class Total

Productive Maintenance (TPM) and High-Performance Organization (HPO) program while also driving

the completion of significant site projects for the site Comprehensive Cost Improvement (CCI) Program.

This position will be responsible for development, deployment, and coaching a team of roughly 10 process

engineers and process technicians to drive overall efficiency and process reliability improvements for the

site by eliminating sources of waste and downtime to root cause. This specific role will have ownership of

various areas of the site with a wide scope of processes and technologies, including bulk raw material

processing and milling, raw material blending, liquid extract manufacturing and filling, and high-speed

recipe mix packaging.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach practical problem-solving methodologies to the team of process engineers and technicians to drive reliability, efficiency, waste reduction and capacity improvement across a diverse set of processing and packaging areas
  • Be a key driver in the site’s comprehensive continuous improvement (CCI) program with responsibility to drive their team to deliver a pipeline of CCI with year over year annual cost savings, through reductions in raw material scrap, labor costs, yield loss, maintenance and repair cost, inventory and other sources of total plant spend
  • Drive the development and implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, with a key focus area in the Focused Improvement Pillar and Autonomous Maintenance pillars. Collaborate across all areas of the plant to build cross functional teams to build capability across the site to build self-sufficient maintenance and loss elimination processes
  • Coach teams to utilize data analytics techniques to extract actionable insights from complex and vague data sets and prove out statistically relevant trends and deviations. Use these to develop clear problem statements that provide valuable recommendations for process optimization and decision-making and prioritize loss elimination and that will reduce overall system variability

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience with progressing leadership roles within Supply Chain and Manufacturing. In lieu of degree, additional experience within Supply Chain and Manufacturing will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results using analytical decision making, building strong teams and relationships, and direction setting. Knowledge of and experience using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
  • This position requires excellent cross functional communication skills and full involvement within the HPO system. Provides mentoring, coaching, and leadership and technical skills development. Influence – partners with all departments internal and external to the site on problems and solutions; recommends improvements within the department and utilizes their team to drive solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in the application of data analysis and statistical methods. The successful candidate will be very detail oriented, have strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, demonstrated grammatical and organizational skills and must be a self-starter, who is able to work independently. Advanced experience in MS Office (Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI) required.  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering Discipline, Food Science, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing facility or equivalent. Experience with GMPs and Food Safety Regulations.
  • Advanced Competency in SAP/other ERP
