Commercial Finance Manager, Consumer - Convenient Meals

McCormick & Company, Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor and seasonings industry, is seeking a full time Commercial Finance Manager. This new hire will work at the Global Headquarters located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Commercial Finance Manager will report to a Commercial Finance Director.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial oversight and support of key activities for the Convenient Meals Product Category for our US Consumer Business. This position also provides financial oversight and business partnership for our Innovation Design teams for our US Consumer Business.  The successful candidate will be an active business partner with the Convenient Meals and Innovation teams and various other cross functional teams working toward common goals to drive growth and profitability.  This position will be responsible for managing processes and developing analysis that will provide the foundation for significant business decisions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Lead a team of finance professionals to manage and oversee all aspects of the financial and profitability analysis for Commercial Business Partners in the Convenient Meals Product Category.
  • Provide management and financial oversight for the US Consumer design function to deliver innovation objectives through P&L development on new projects, financial analytics on growth and profitability, and consolidated reporting for US Consumer innovation program.
  • Provide business partnership and financial leadership on short-term business projects and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Lead business planning projects with cross functional business partners and provide actionable insights to assist in key decision making including the strategic and annual plan, budget, and quarterly forecasts
  • Consistently apply McCormick growth behaviors in support of our critical business partners and maintain a continuous improvement mindset identifying and executing change opportunities to continually drive value creation.
  • Maintain appropriate internal control environment.
  • Development of staff and a successful team through active coaching and management of goals & objectives, aligning individual and organizational development (balanced with business) needs, deploying resources effectively, identifies and plans development opportunities, executes talent review process, identify future talent and capability needs and prioritizes talent for leadership programs.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounting, Financial, or equivalent business function analysis
  • A minimum of 2 years of project management experience supporting finance initiatives with the business functions
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and basic proficiency of Power Point & Word required. TM1 and SAP/BW experience is desirable
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines
  • Demonstrated complex financial analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven team player

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • MBA and/or CPA
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
