Position Overview
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Plant Continuous Improvement Manager will be directly responsible for the management and leadership of site operational excellence using defined CI tools and TPM principles. The job also requires knowledge gained through substantial applicable work experience, often achieved through a variety of work assignments, to supplement formal knowledge. This level of proficiency enables the incumbent to apply technical skills and knowledge and ensure essential procedures are followed as well as help to define the standards and specifications around which others will operate. This position will be a management role, responsible for a team of employees focused on yield loss, PR, Kaizen activities, Training and Development, and CCI initiatives etc.
Responsibilities
- Coaches and/or leads Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars in the areas of AM, PM, FI and T&D. Facilitates the JTE steering committee to ensure JTE work is prioritized and on a pathway to formal, assessed maturity.
- Provide leadership and coaching to teams, driving results achievement through others. Achieve results through participative, high-performance management and leadership skills.
- Fosters an environment of continuous improvement through FI activities focused on people development and problem solving.
- Partners with the regional resources on projects related to cost optimization, cost reduction and overall efficiency improvement glidepaths for the site.
- Responsible for facilitating the site’s Compelling Business Need, 3 year long term plan and the annual master plan.
- Facilitates and sustains a robust T&D strategy for the plant to ensure long-term strategic plans are attainable through skills training, versatility and job progression. Utilizes training within industry to deliver trained technicians to the line while growing a train-the-trainer program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Engineering
- 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility, with leadership experience and a proven record of target focused delivery in fast paced Operational environment.
- Understanding of the Tools and Techniques used in Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to participate in initiatives according to business needs and strategy In-depth understanding of the specific work unit; knowledge of the functional area and how external factors impact the work unit.
- Background knowledge of the industry in order to understand which improvement options are feasible. Therefore, a solid understanding of applicable regulations, safety protocols, manufacturing tolerances and related data is needed
- Expected to know and understand applicability of current best industry practices that apply to field of responsibility
- Working practices within the packaging machinery and controls category.
- In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with other areas
- Comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
- Basic understanding of the industry sector in which they are operating and the impact to own function.

Base Salary: $103,520 - $181,150
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
