We are looking to hire a Customer Business Manager II immediately.  This is a home based sales position and the ideal candidate will be based in the  New England  Region or within a 4-hour drive to Boston.

 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Customer Business Manager II will be responsible for achieving strategic account objectives including delivering sales volume goals, promotional execution, and account level distribution targets.  Managing and leading internal annual planning, customer line reviews, retail execution, and financial (check book) management are additional critical aspects of the role.  Finally, building multi-level and cross-functional customer intimacy will be critical for CBM II’s success in this role. The Customer Business Manager II on the Northeast and Pure Play Geo Region Sales Team managing the Demoulas, Price Chopper, Tops, and Big Y accounts.  The ideal candidate will be based in the New England Region or be within a 4 hour drive to Boston and be able to travel with frequency of up to 50%.  The Customer Business Manager II will report to the Northeast and Pure Play Geo Region Sales Director. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and delivering customer plans to achieve volume objectives and primary day-to-day selling interface at customer HQ.
  • Advocating customer support from internal cross-functional team members.
  • Direct efforts for broker partners supporting these indirect customers. 
  • Manage sales of McCormick category and product offerings, policies and procedures, score carding, annual planning reviews, determine pricing, shelving, forecast & distribution for existing brands and new products.
  • Sell-in of retail controllables with the customer (assortment, promotion, shelf, display) and manage contract negotiations.
  • Determine appropriate product mix and gain subsequent distribution.
  • Manage Telus forecast and trade spend promotion system.
  • Infrequent overnight travel required to key markets/accounts as needed to support the business (50%)

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field OR 8 years’ of directly related sales experience.
  • 6 years Sales, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Category Management, Revenue Management, or related experience with a minimum of 4 years’ CPG industry experience.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and complexity.
  • Self-motivated: strong drive and work ethic
  • Understands how Sales integrates with other internal commercialization areas including trade marketing, revenue management, category management, customer service, supply chain, and sales finance.
  • Aptitude to make data-driven, insightful decisions.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication combined with polished presentation capability
  • Analytical mindset and in-depth understanding of Circana/Nielsen consumer insight driven business planning
  • Solid understanding of CPG industry sector and competitive landscape
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of McCormick products, mix, and categories
  • Experience with Power BI reporting tool1

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
