We are looking to hire a Finance Director immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for all finance activities related to North America (US and Canada) Consumer commercial business (CPD, Zatarian's, Simply Asia and Lawry's), including all financial support and business partnering with the North America VPs Marketing (currently 4). Provides leadership, financial training and guidance to all persons on the Marketing and Commercial Finance teams regarding financial forecasting, actuals, innovation, capital projects and working capital. As well, this role will be responsible for providing summarized and succinct business analysis to the VP Commercial Finance of America’s Consumer, enabling that role to provide strategic leadership and guidance to the North American Consumer ELT and ALT. policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with NA Consumer VP Marketing to deliver growth through: pricing strategy (inclusive of directing and overseeing all pricing analysis and procedures), formulate portfolio strategy in alignment with McCormick’s Consumer strategy, Innovation support, gross margin improvement. 
  • Development of staff and a successful team through active coaching and management of goals & objectives, aligning individual and organizational development (balanced with business) needs, deploying resources effectively, identifies and plans development opportunities, executes talent review process, identify future talent and capability needs and prioritizes talent for leadership programs.
  • Direct the coordination and preparation of the long-term plan, annual budget and forecast process. Present plans to Management identifying areas of focus and key drivers to ensure profitable growth. Direct and oversee all activities related to the monthly reporting process with a clear focus on generating value added actionable insights.
  • Directing and interpreting all monthly results analysis, forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning from Gross Sales to Marketing Profit, including partnering with Supply Chain and Commercial Finance COEs.
  • Oversee and facilitate all commercial finance planning processes including net sales drivers, scorecards, O&R administration, forecast, LTP, competitor analytics, TM1 to EDW reconciliation, and demand dollarization. In addition, will direct and coordinate the licensing, royalties, and brand impairment processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • BA in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • 12+ years overall accounting/finance experience including
  • 5+ years leading a large group of accounting/finance professionals
  • Experience and understanding to effectively operate within SAP (R3) and BW data cubes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • In-depth understanding of financial analysis techniques and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions of the organization
  • Good understanding of CPD contract process
  • Good understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong customer focus, demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgment and solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Frequent interaction with Senior Management including MOC and CAC
  • Regular interaction with the VP of Sales and Regional Vice Presidents of sales
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
