Director HR Technology


McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Director, HR Technology. This new hire will work at McCormick's global heaquarters, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Director, HR Technology will report to a Senior Director, HR Operations.

The Director, HR Technology is responsible for the strategy and development of the HR Technology portfolio to achieve business objectives, and engaging employee experience, and operational excellence. This role aligns within and across the HR function and overall organization as a key business partner for the advancement and alignment of HR Technology to deliver and support business strategy and objectives.



  • Develops and aligns HR Technology strategy and delivery with business strategy and objectives.
  • Drives and inspires team by building and executing a phased HR Technology roadmap to deliver business objectives and enable growth.
  • Responsible for strategic communication, development, and execution of strategy across all organizational levels.
  • Sets the overall direction and optimizes HR technology systems to meet workforce requirements creating opportunities for automation, reduction of manual processes, and simple, compliant processes.
  • Manages the implementation of new functionality and business process improvements including determining requirements gathering, testing, roll-out, and end user training and adoption.
  • Manages vendors for HR technology, including monitoring internal and external service levels and regular business reviews.
  • Researches and recommends advancements in HR Technology, in partnership and alignment with HR and IT partners, and corporate strategy and practices
  • HR Technology owner for SuccessFactors system, responsible for all team leadership, administration, configuration, implementation, maintenance, controls, and module support of system.
  • Partners directly with HR Data and Analytics Director to ensure requirements for data standards, data privacy requirements, and all controls are in place and followed.
  • Partners with Regional and Global HR Business Partners, Centers of Expertise, and McCormick People Solutions to develop and deliver HR Technology while driving global alignment and prioritization across all HR processes and initiatives



  • BSc/BA in Business, Human Resources, Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years partnering with, managing, or providing consultation to a customer group.
  • In-depth experience using SuccessFactors and/or leading a SuccessFactors implementation or post go-live.
  • Experience with global client groups and agility to work with matrixed functional areas and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills including; superb communication, action-orientation, and proven consultancy skills (analysis, problem-solving, facilitation, developing and operationalizing business cases).
  • Ability to build trust and credibility across each level within organization
  • Ability to understand and deliver technical information that is adapted to audience needs.
  • Knowledge of control and security strategies and processes for HR system requirements, including SuccessFactors.
  • Strong business and financial savvy, ability to develop and communicate business cases.
  • Proven customer engagement abilities.



  • MBA, Master’s degree, or PhD.
  • Post-implementation stabilization and continuous improvement for ERP system
