Electrical/Electronics Technician


McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time B shift (Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm) Electrical Electronic Technician. This new hire will work in Spice Mill, located at 10901 Gilroy Road, Hunt Valley, MD. The EET will report to a Maintenance Team Manager.

 Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Team Manager, the incumbent will respond to electrical trouble calls on production/process equipment and utility breakdown. This position would perform preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required on both production equipment and facilities equipment. Also, will be responsible for completing assigned work orders and documenting all tests; i.e., oscilloscope, DMM, Recorder, Meggar, etc. Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify a root cause as well as to recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional teams in an HPWS environment. This position will require flexibility with shift and work day assignments to support business need requirements. 



  • Acceptable attendance required.
  • Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
  • An AA degree in Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or completion of an approved apprenticeship in industrial electrical maintenance required.
  • Three to five years of plant maintenance experience preferred in all maintenance crafts, to include electrical, plumbing, mechanics, welding, machine shop, millwright and carpentry as related to process and packaging equipment.
  • Must be able to develop control logic including prints and installation of control wiring and troubleshoot PLC/Solid State control instruments.
  • Must be proficient in the use of applications of test equipment such as multi meters.                  
  • Must have a working knowledge of Windows.                                                                                 
  • Must have a working knowledge and field experience with process/programmable controllers and AC/DC drives.
  • Industrial control wiring experience.                                                       .
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret instrument drawings and control schematics.
  • Possess knowledge of NEC requirements.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.   
  • Must be able to work in cross functional teams.
